Extension Springs

Raynor doors are balanced by torsion (shown) or extension springs. Extension springs are mounted just above the horizontal track, perpendicular to the closed garage door. Torsion springs are mounted above the closed door, parallel and horizontal to the top section of the door as shown here. Torsion springs wind and unwind to provide lifting power, while extension springs get their lifting power by stretching.

Heavy Gauge Steel

Heavy gauge steel is used to ensure stability and long life. All Raynor track is made specifically for every door ordered and can be adjusted for a precise fit.

Steel Wheel Bearings

Raynor uses steel wheel ball bearings for smoother, quieter operation. Raynor Premium-level garage doors offer nylon rollers with steel ball bearings for superior noise reduction-a plus when living space is used above or in close proximity to the garage.

Sections

Sections are the primary visual portion of your door. Raynor offers a variety of exterior door designs, including up to 13 styles for Raynor Innovation Series doors. Interior construction ranges from pan doors without insulation to insulated steel sandwich doors.

Hinges

Hinges are made of high-quality steel and bear the weight of the door in the upright (closed) position. On Raynor Premium-level garage doors and all Raynor Innovation Series doors, hinges are powder coated for maximum protection against moisture and rust.

Weather Seal

To help keep out wind and rain, Raynor garage doors feature a vinyl bottom weather seal attached to a sturdy aluminum retainer.

Energy Efficiency

Choosing an insulated garage door means increased energy efficiency, soundproofing, and quieter operation. Raynor residential garage doors include several energy efficient features designed to offer superior performance.

Polyurethane Insulation

State-of-the-art polyurethane insulation is blown between the door's steel skins and expands to fill 100% of the door's interior space. This delivers the industry's best insulation efficiency and provides for maximum structural integrity, strength and soundproofing. Provides R-values from 12.0 - 18.0. Available on most Raynor Innovations Series doors.

Expanded Polystyrene Insulation

To help keep out wind and rain, Raynor garage doors feature a vinyl bottom weather seal attached to a sturdy aluminum retainer.

Thermal Break and Air Seal

Thermal break and air seal prevent heat loss from metal-to-metal contact between inside and outside surfaces. Thermal break and air seal is available on Masterpiece, Showcase, Affina, Centura, and Relante doors.

Weatherseal

To help keep out wind and rain, all Raynor garage doors feature a vinyl bottom weatherseal attached to a sturdy aluminum retainer.

Perimeter Weatherseal

An optional perimeter weatherseal creates a seal along the exterior top and sides of the door.

Raynor Finger Protection SystemT

Raynor Finger Protection

As your garage door closes, the patented Raynor Finger Protection System gently pushes fingers away from section joints and out of harm's way. Available exclusively on Raynor Innovations Series doors.

Note: People have been injured by attempting to close a door by placing their fingers in an open section joint and pulling down on the door. Even if your door comes equipped with finger-protected section joints that won't allow you to place your fingers in the joint, as a safety precaution, never attempt to place your fingers in the section joint.
